A LOVE OF QUALITY FISH
A love of quality fish led John Varga to Jammin’ Salmon Seafoods, where he was a customer before he became a partner in the business with Capt. Mark Harrington in 2011.
That superior quality seafood is what he wanted to continue offering to clients when he decided to take on Jammin’ Salmon Seafoods himself in 2017 when Harrington decided to pursue other interests.
Jammin’ Salmon continues to source its fresh, wild-caught seafood from American sources. The company continues to bring premium Alaska wild seafood to customers’ doors, making high-quality fish accessible to customers in a landlocked state.
The Copper River salmon is freshly caught, processed and flash-frozen in Cordova, Alaska and express shipped to Colorado. Other seafood including halibut, sablefish, crab, scallops, clams, and prawns are sourced seasonally from domestic waters.
Today, John Varga and his wife, Brenda, continue to offer the convenience of home delivery of Jammin’ Salmon Seafoods to Western Colorado customers.
Jammin’ Salmon pledges to offer customers exclusively wild-caught fish, meaning they can rest assured that they won’t be purchasing farmed fish that have been raised with antibiotics … and they’ll experience the health benefits of eating sustainably-harvested fish known to have higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids, valued for heart health.
Varga is pleased to continue offering quality seafood to Grand Valley customers who care about the origins of their food. John and Brenda grew up in the Grand Valley and are proud graduates of Grand Junction High School. They’ve been married for 50 years, raised their son and daughter here and now have five grandchildren.
Varga is also a partner in Dos Rios Pottery Studio, the former owner of The Real Estate Shop, and is a competitive barbecue enthusiast, where he and his team, Hickory Dickory Hog, have won several medals in Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned events. He’s happy to provide cooking tips on any of the products Jammin’ Salmon offers.
Jammin’ Salmon Seafoods is available for delivery only on the Western Slope of Colorado within the Grand Valley.
NEWS FROM THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION
The American Heart Association urges everyone to consume fish – especially fatty species such as salmon and black cod – at least twice a week. For people who already have heart disease, the oils in fish may be especially important, as they may improve this condition. Omega-3 oils from fish are the best source to maintain a healthy heart.
Unfortunately, farm-raised salmon contains inferior amounts of omega-3 oils and too many omega-6s, which actually increases inflammation in the body. Worse, farmed fish are ladened with toxins and antibiotic residues.
Wild Caught Salmon is one of the best tasting and most nutritious salmon in the world. The lean muscle leads to a firm fillet texture, while the body fat leads to a large amount of natural, healthy oils and Omega-3 fatty acids. If you are interested in improving your health by consuming Wild Caught Salmon, try Jammin’ Salmon Seafoods. Contact John to arrange delivery of our superior products.
